Ingredients:
Rice Flour -2 cup
Seasame seeds or Ellu - 1 cup
Jaggery or Vellam - 1 cup (grated)
Cardamom -
Coconut - 3 tbsp (grated)
Oil - 1 tsp
Water - 1 1/2 cup
For Kozhukattai Dough:
First in a pan fry the rice flour without oil. Then boil the 1 1/2 cup of water with 1 tsp of oil (gingelly oil) and salt. In a bowl add rice flour then add 1 cup of boiling water slowely and mix. Left another 1/2 cup of water , if u need more water add that another half cup. Let them cool.
For Stuffing:
In a dry pan dry roast seasame seeds,let it cool. Then in a mixee add fried seasame seeds , cardamom and jaggery and make a powder. Then add grated coconut in to it, mix well. Now the stuffing is ready.
Method:
Take a small ball from the prepared dough. In a plastic paper apply little oil , put flour ball in that paper and make it as round shape. Now put 1 spoon of pooranam in the centre of roud shape and fold the flour , give a gentle press to the folded part , now it has stick together. Make all dough with the same procedure. Then cook them in pressure cooker or idly pot. Now yummy kozhukattai is ready. We can use the paruppu or thengai pooranam instead ellu pooranam. But the method is same.
