Ingredients:
Salmon fish - 2 pieces
Onion - 1/2 chopped
Tomato - 1/2 chopped
Ginger - 1 inch (crushed)
Garlic - 3 cloves (crushed)
Green chilies - 2 chopped
Curry leaves - 2 springs
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Kodam puli - 4 pieces
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Fenugreek seed - 1/2 tsp (powdered)
Aluminum paper or banana leaf
Salt
Oil
Method:
Clean the fish. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt. After 15 minutes, fry the fish and keep this separate. Soak the kodam puli into water and take the juice. In a pan add oil, put mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds splutter add onion, tomato, green chilies, crushed garlic and ginger. Cook till it comes like puree, add chilly powder and coriander powder. Saute well. Add the kodam puli juice, fenugreek powder and salt. Let it cook till it comes like gravy. Now take the aluminum foil paper or banana leaf, put the fish in the center of the paper and pour one big ladle of the gravy. Close the fish and bake this with oven about 400 degree F for 15 minutes. Meen pollichathu is ready. We can use the whole fish also with slits in the body.
