Boondhi laddu

Ingredients :

           Kadalai mavu / bengal gram flour : 1/2 kg or 2 and 1/2 cups
           Sugar - 3 and 1/2  cups
           Rice flour - 1/4 cup
           Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
           Ghee - 3 tbsp
           Cardamom - 5
           Cloves - 2
           Cashew nuts - 1/4 cup
           Raisins - 1/4 cup
           Water - 1/2 cup to 2 cups

Method :

           First fry the cashew and raisins in ghee. Powder the cardamom without skin as  fine along with cloves. Sift the gram flour , rice flour and baking soda. Mix the flour by adding water slowly, like dosa batter.
            In a pan add sugar and water. Make a sugar syrup as one string consistency. Let it be.
           
            Now In other pan add oil,let it heat. start making of boondhi. Slowly put batter in ladle,and tap it. It will drop in the oil. Don't over cook the boondhi, half cooking is enough. take all the  boondhi and put into the syrup. Follow the same method for rest of the batter too. At last keep 3 cups of boondhi to grind into mixee, make it as a powder and mix with the syrup. Add the fried cashew and raisins. Add cardamom and cloves too,mix well the mixture. Then slowly start to make ladoos. Then put into a big tray,let it cool,after 1 hour, again make the balls as tight by keep rotating with hands.
